Default texture of ported Intake???

I have heard every argument about what will make more horsepower. pollished perfectly smooth?? polished and left with a dimpled pattern??? ported and left with the markes of the grinder(not pollished but with dimples) Anyone have any definite answer. I know we all have an opinion but have any dyno runs been made or other process to know "for sure"

i think it all depends on your setup. diff porting for diff setups on a quad. i have also seen diff opinions from everyone. i dont know if you get a very good answer on this. to many diff styles of porting. would be supprised if someone has tried them all and dynoed them.

Textured is better, but I dont think there is a consensus on what texture to use. Polished smooth is ok for the exhaust, but not the intake on a four stroke.

Do not polish the intake. It needs alittle texture to mix fuel & air. I ones that has polished thier intakes had problems with starting. They went back & textured alittle which made starting the bike easier. Just my 2c
