hi my DS did exactly the same thing and it cost me about 450$ to change a 13.50$ bearing in the tranny
i am pretty sure you are having the same problem as i did, i think it was a shifter shaft bearing, but not sure
yes he will have to tear apart the whole motor, but see it on the good side, it's time to put some go-fast things in it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

AZDSBomb...looks like you got the right help on this one. Just thought I would chime in, in case you want to see what all is involved in the tranny R&R. Well, the tranny part of it any way. Hopefully, my problem will be just be a bearing - did your front sprocket gaurd melt? As for the blue plastic, I will post if we are able to determine where it came from. I'm going to pull it and take it the shop this weekend. I am still kicking around replacing the engine, is there a good source for a replacement besides the dealers?
