Best price for an '04 and '05 Outlander
Dealers around here have a $5900 MSRP, but I have not tried to deal yet. Are there any differences between the '04 and the '05, besides the new tires? I was hoping to buy an '04 for a better price. Please let me know what you have paid OTD for yours. Thanks!

Hi, I literally joined the site now, just so I could perhaps add to your question. I have "stolen" free knowledge from this great site over the past month and figure I owe it to you all to "Give Back".
I know very little about atv's and in fact have only owned one for 4 days now. I searched, and read a ton over the last month however. I just bought a "end of year clearence" 2004 Outlander MAX (2-seater). Most (and I searched over 30 dealers), would not go under $6,199 + $139 for "supposedly" destination and $49.99 for "supposedly" prep. I had 2 dealers offer it for $5,799 and the one said + the $139 and $49.99 + my PA 6% sales tax. The other which was just yards across state line in MD (AND ACTUALLY CLOSER) said $5,799 + 5 % sales tax and that's it. I think my homework and simply taking time to call dealers got me a great out the door price for the MAX at $6,247.00.
I seriously looked at the "end of year clearence" 2004 Plain Outlander 400 H.O. and could have had the viper red or Laureen Green for $5199, but couldn't touch a the xt package on the yellow for under $5,899. I realize I've stated a lot about the MAX which is not your question, but if you think in the terms of my Max msrp at $6,399 for a 2004, and what I paid....I would clearly think you could geat a better deal if you have just 3 hours to make the calls or e-mail the dealers within an 80 mile distance of your postal code like I did.
Changes for 2005? I asked many if there was anything significant about the 05 vs. 04 and was told "No". Please don't hold me to this though.
P.S.
I'm just waiting to hear a reply now, telling me they got their 2004 max for $1,000 cheaper and as a grown man, I'm preparing myself for the tears.

Yes I am. Plenty of power for me. Good combo of sport and utility. Only problem has been the clanking from the rear suspension(fixed) and a bad fuel valve(being fixed) Give these folks a call. They will give ya the out the door price over the phone. At least you'll know about what you should be paying.
