Default Sensors

I just had my oil pressure sensor go and my fan sensor go. The dealer said that Bombardier knows there is a problem. Does anyone know if the replacements last any longer? Should I have them order extras as this is going to be a problem? Fortunately, I still had two weeks of warranty left. my '03 never had any of these problems. It seems that every time I read a thread about a problem mine has it a week later. I just hope after the warranty runs out the problems do. Recently, I read about a starter problem, I guess I'll have to replace that also.

I'm just installed the second oil sensor (original and 1st install both went bad). I also purchased a spare. They cost $13/ea. I also purchased a rubber boot to cover the sensor and connector for $3. Service bulletin 2004-3 recommends the rubber boot.

I had to cut the wire, put the boot on the wire, use wire clamps to get both ends connected again, plug the connector into the sensor, finally pull the installed rubber boot down onto the sensor. Done!

I haven't picked mine up from the dealer yet. I hope he did the boot over the sensor. I still will purchase a spare though. Are you pressure washing your bike?

I've only pressure washed the machine once, last fall. The oil sensors are junk in my book. Strange, others I've talked to have never had a problem. I've even checked the green rubber gasket, thinking there could be a tear or something allowing any water into the sensor where the male and female connect. I now have a spare and the boot is over the current (third new) sensor.

pads, i would highly reccomend you check out your starter gear assembly (before its possibly too late) i read about one person having an issue...then all of a sudden it happened to me (and it looked like 5+ other people at the same time...)

it would have cost me over 400 bucks on parts (sprag bearing is 175ish, and the main gear is 150ish, plus small parts such as gasket, washers etc. and some others even lost more gears than i did...)

i contacted bombardier about it (i am out of warranty on my 03 by about 5 months now) and they basically said too bad so sad. Said they would "look into it, and see if there are any running campaigns"
