New Quad in the Garage
#3
So what made you buy the bike?
I've had my 400 for about six months now. I love it. I sport ride only and what I wanted in a bike this one offers. My dream bike was independant suspension all around, disc break, 4x4, light frame but able to haul ***. This bike has performed exceptionally well.
Gotta admit the frame well light weight doesn't stand up to rough performance and is very easily dented/dinged up. First thing I did was build a skid plate that goes from the front of the frame to the rear frame. New tires (mine came with 4ply) put 6ply Bear Claws on it, awesome ride. Foudn 4ply to be too soft and bottomed out often, hence the dented frame.
I run with Polaris 500/700 and Artic cat 500. I hold my own and actually aside from the 700 out perform them on all terrain. What I found in the snow and water, it's a light bike so it doesn't get bogged down. In the mud your gonna get dirty and wet off the front fenders as they are cut back to sharply. To get around this get up over the front of the bike. 4x4 is always there and has never let me down. On the steepest hills at a dead stop I can throw this bike into 4x4 and she hauls no problem straight up. Balance is supurb on side slops. What else can I say I love this bike.
My bike was a demo model and came with 1,300 kms (canadain) on it. There has been no replacement of belts, etc. as of yet. I will be taking my bike apart come the winter and cleaning it all up, guess I'll find any problems then.
Enjoy it and keep the rubber side down.
