anyone ever race a 440ex? my brother wants to put a 440 kit in his 400rx this winter, he thinks he'll be able to keep up with me after!!!!!!!

 

What kind of race? What all would be put on the 440? Is the 440 all stroke or bore? What size & type of carb, cam spec, piston type & compression, and type of fuel, and type of exhaust?

If its done right, he will be able to keep up with a DS650.

 

One of my buddies has a full 440 stroker...cams, valves, ported, Edelbrock carb, etc... It's as fast as my DS until about 4th gear, then I'll slowly walk away from him. I think if he experimented with his gearing the thing would be as fast on top end as my DS.

I put my 440EX (with some recent changes) on comp hill yesterday in Florence and had an acquaintance race it against a slightly built YFZ 450 - and it was pretty close - The 440EX took him 1 out of 3 races. After all three races, the YFZ rider asked if the EX had nitrous. We told him no, but he still looked under the seat for the bottle!

 

That's cool...I have a 400EX I'd like to build up at a later time...then again I told my 6 month old daughter she could have it when she was ready....guess she'll have a built EX when the time comes...lol.
