rotella t 5w-40 synthetic who is using it?

hey mike how is that rotella t working for you? does it affect the clutches any? how would it be for cold weather starting?
>>>>>
Seems to work just fine....I don't have it in my DS yet but its in my dirtbike and motorcycle and no problems. I don't know about the cold weather since it stays above freezing where I live but at 5/40W I don't see where that would be a problem and my understanding is that synthetic much better in cold weather then organic oil. Amzoil and Rotella T synthetics have been known to last tens of thousands of miles between oil changes in the trucking industry, of course they use filters and pre filters which filter down to 2-3 microns. I knew an Amzoil rep who claimed to have over 100,000 miles on a van without changing the oil. I wouldn't recommend that kind of use but it must mean something.

changing oil befor the trip to little sahara in my 760 also the bombusa and my son's 250ex. the 760 has had mobile 1, the bombusa had castrol gtx 10w-40 and the honda had honda oil. I REFUSE TO DRIVE TO 3 DIFFERENT PLACES FOR OIL ANYMORE!!! bought a cast of castrol GTX 10w-40 for all 3 machines (i have used GTX in the past and never had clutch or any other issues) now it's all i will use, tired of expensive synthetic's and magical factory oil's, if it's good enough for JOHN FORCE (he's my hero) it's good enough for me

Synthetics don't bother your clutches any more than conventional oils. Everyone who does any mods to their ds will eventually need either stiffer springs or the barnett clutch. I have 548 hours on my ds with synthetic oil in it since new, and all I have done for the clutches is stiffer springs at 150 hours. To me spending $25 for heavier springs is well worth the the price to run synthetic and have a motor last a lot longer. Here is a link to that article everyone refers people too about oil.
