how hard is it to pull my motor?

Default how hard is it to pull my motor?

to paint the frame and pull the head and jugg? to check my rings i read the faq;s 650 and they said i had to drop my clutch basket and a couple other things cant i just pull the carb the exhaust and the wires and the motor mounts and have my kid lift it out? i am gonna do another compression test tonight and a leakdown tonight and il will give you guys the resukts and see if i should rip it down later dudes , my back feels a little better today got a good night sleep for once lol

its pretty easy, and if you pull ur head and cylinder off first i'd b basic, if you want to pull it out full complete, you need to take off the exhaust, carb, disconnect the wiring from the motor(ie, wire going to the start, spark plug wires, etc), take off the chain, all motor bolts, and tilt motor forward you should be able to pull it right out, beware this isn't a light motor, and i don't think theres anything else you need to do to get the motor out,

IF you are pulling the head off, it might be best if you use a top dead center bolt, that helps in lining everything back up. Pulling the motor on the DS is pretty straight forward..unbolt any thing that needs unbolted, if the motor has never been out before, Bomb uses pretty strong loctite on the motor mounts. The motor comes out the right side, a few other tips: take off your right footpeg, drain your fluids, disconnect the battery, remember the last motor bolt you take out will have all the weight on it, you may need a pry bar to take some of the weight off the motor to get the bolt out.

also, becareful when unscrewing your temp sencer, they tend to break easily...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

why would he need to take out the sensor? why not just disconnect the wire?
