Best battery upgrade for DS650???
just a piece of useless info ( some of u will know from past threads that i look at things differently)
I have gone through 5 of the yasa bomb batteries and so i started to get a little annoyed. I took two of them to the centuary technician and had them cut apart ...both of them had broken in odd places.
By the look of the damage the technician concluded that vibration had destroyed the batteries.
I then bought a new battery for a honda 400ex , it is quite a bit smaller but still has 9 cranking amps in it . Then we packed some of that dense rubber foam stuff ( similar to those camp rolls u use on the ground ) behind , and on top and underneath of the battery in the holder.
2 yrs later and not one issue for me or the other 20 or so people i have suggested this too.
Simply put the bomb has a major vibration and with the battery mounted to the frame u will always have problems with that system .
good luck .

Best battery upgrade for DS650???
ya the yuasa batts cant handle vibration (id be 75% + of the dead batts on a DS are dead from vibration)
i beleive the odyssey has 12+ amps ? (i dont remember, but i was just looking at it and it said if it was below 12.5 or somthing like that it wasnt at full charge) maybe it cant actually give all 12 to the starter?
all i know is i can crank my ds for a LOT longer with this batt than i ever could a nearly new fully charged yuasa.

Best battery upgrade for DS650???
my everstart is a wet cell but it has a 6 month warranty nationwide, if it pukes bring it back for free lol
BTW, when I quoted 75.00 and 5.00 shipping, I was going on memory (much less reliable then the DS ) I did pay the quoted price on the web site
and about the odyssey being more expensive? hmmm must have a good dealer to hook you up, because the cheapset i could find a stocker was 87 bucks before tax!
