Default Powdercoating Do's and Dont's

i am happy with the end results of my rebuild. now if i could just get some shock covers that fit over those long- a$$ works shocks. that blue is hideous. my old covers dont fit at all.

i took the frame to a place near me and it was not prepped at all. it was dirty and everything. the guy did my frame and swingarm for 160.00 out the door. he sandblasted it to bare metal of course beforehand and i could not believe that price. that price was for any color as well, even metalics. i am probably going to get my whole exhaust ceramic coated next. i think i got a good deal.

Default Powdercoating Do's and Dont's

I clear powdercoated my axle last year after polishing it. Held up great to riding on rocky trails. Just tape from outside of threads to the other shoulder on the other side. Keeps thread and races clean.

Default Powdercoating Do's and Dont's

I'm not understanding the "from the outside of the threads to the shoulder on the other side" Tape across the whole axle?

Does anyone else have any tips or experience oopsies they would like to share? This could help a lot of peopele out...

The threads where the locking nut goes to the other side . Just where the the carrier and sprocket and brake hubs are.

Default Powdercoating Do's and Dont's

I know Epic Suspensions is building a new DS650X from the ground up for a friend of mine. They sent the frame, a-arms and swingarm out to a powdercoater in Oregon who is powdercoating the frame a burnt orange and the suspension black chrome. Apparently they have a process that is supposed to look like colored chrome. When it's done I'll post pictures.
