Default Best source for PIAA H-4 bulbs?

I've had several brand H-4 bulbs for my '01 headlight, the $10 cheapies do not cut it, I have a $10 hundred watt that puts out less light than my 60 watt stocker!

I want the PIAA "super plasma" that puts out more Kelvins than any other on the market, one 60W bulb puts out the equivalent of a 130W knock-off, but they are pricy. This is their brightest, brighter than the "super white" even.

Anybody got a good source for them? Cheapest I've found on the web is $70 a pair.

You may need a different regulator as the manual says if you use the 55watt bulbs or higher, the regulator might not be able to recharge the battery properly.

I have had good luck with the cheap ones from JC whittney. I ran the 100/55 H4 xenon main and 55w H3 xenon baja. They worked great and never had any charging issues, but I would not sit at idle and leave 210w of lights on!

The Piaa bulbs are not cheap and there claims make me wonder. For the price you could carry 4 spare bulbs! You go though a couple Piaa bulbs and you will be in HID price range.

This place has decent prices but I don't know if they are the cheapest http://www.ltbmotorsport.com/piaalampsbulbs.html

I would do a Google search on "PIAA H4" and check some of the retailers to compare prices. There are quite a few.
I have also been wanting to try the PIAA bulbs in my DS but I haven't heard any reports from other riders as to their durability. I was hoping some others would try them out first and give some reports. I do know they make quality bulbs, just a bit expensive.

Mudnuri I have the old style glass light with the single 60/55w bulb. The PIAA I want is also a 60w, no change in power draw, but it supposedly puts out the equivelant of a 130w conventional bulb.
But the DS can handle 200w of light with no mods, several people are running that much from what I've read and heard.

I know the claim sounds fishy, but there is a universal light chart that shows intensity measured in Kelvins, and a normal halogen puts out like 2,800, super whites are like 4,000, and the plasma is supposed to be 5,000. Sunlight is 5,200 kelvins. So if the light measurement claim is accurate then its believable. But it is a lot of money though, I have my reservations and may just get the 100w super white for $20, rather than a $35 plasma that none of us are certain of.
