Cutting Carb Spring
#22
The factory has gone to a shorter and thinner wire spring.
Cutting the spring actual started by guys with no aftermarket exhaust.
Count how many coils there are totally.
2001 stock was 3 5/8 long with 28 coils.
The fewer the coils the stiffer the spring rate.
This is the pitch of the spring. Distance from coil to coil.
Let me know how many coils and I will try to give you a good estimate to cut.

I would only cut 3 coils.
When you get below 24 coils and in the length range you are in, you can become too soft and the slide will rise too fast.
Try it and let me know how it works. As long as bottom end boog goes away, I would not cut more, unless I knew the thickness of the wire.
