Default New Tires Decision

I cant decide what new tires to go with. My main focus was on good meaty tires cause my riding conditions r usually wet and i hate having tires slip when i need traction... BUT im dialing in my gear ratio wit a smaller front sprocket so im aiming at accelleration. Getting 22" mud tires kinda cancels out goin wit a 15 tooth front sprocket, so i want 20"...BUT you cant get a good meaty tire in 20" and my choices are as follows:
Rears:
Mud Machine 22x12x9
GBC Gators 22x11x9
Holeshot HD 20x11x9
Holeshot XCR 20x11x9
Fronts:
Holeshots XCR 21x7x10
Maxxis Razr II 21x7x10
Pretty much should i go wit the 22" meaty tires for non stop traction but suffer a lil more weight OR go wit the light 20" race tires, any opinions?

Im running a 14 tooth front sprocket with 22 Mud machine ATs. I run trails and riverbeds with no trouble. And they work great in the snow. Quad has great acceleration plus still has plenty of top end.

Are your mud machines heavy?

if you'r running in that much wet mud ect the 22" will really help ground clearance which is a real issue with 20" tires, i know because i was always getting stuck befor the switch to 22" razors. i think i am running a 14 tooth front with the 22" tires on my stocker.

i have heard nothing but good things about the mud machine tires for the loose stuff.

Default New Tires Decision

Anyone know if PureSport Bandits come in a 20" size? I know that the 22" size works a little better in mud than the 22" Holeshots do, so maybe a 20" size would also be a little better, being as the Bandit's have bigger tread blocks.

I also wonder how durable the new Holeshot HDs are going to turn out to be, because I punched a hole right through the sidewall of a 20X11x9 Holeshot HD on the very first ride we had used them on, on my son's YFZ 450. He was concerned that his quad wasn't running very good, so he asked me to trade quads with him, and he rode my DS 650, while I checked out his YFZ. On the very first fifth gear straightaway I nailed a rock that I didn't see in time, and that toasted the tire right there. I also hit a rock in fifth gear with my DS later that day, and my Bandit XCs took it in stride. But then I did bend the ITP T-9 wheel on my DS, and the ITP T-9 Baja wheels on my son's YFZ did not bend, so we both ended up needing to replace something after that day.

I don't think one tire failure is enough to determine how durable a tire is going to be. I'm just letting you know that Holeshot HDs are NOT bulletproof (or rock proof either).

My 22 inch mud machines do not feel much more heavy than my stock tires do. They are extremely light for a mud tire. I have a set of 22 razor2s on stock rims I'll try and weigh them and then weigh my mud machines on baja rims to compair.
