put me down for a set!!!!! pm for contact info.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] went snow riding yesterday (1-30-05) after having the front end push around in the loose snow (got warm in the afternoon) ski's would be the hot ticket. also i flipped my stocker ds when the front left tire got in the fluff and spun me side ways, then flipped me off and bent the bars down [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] with ski's this would not have happened, ski's float tires dig in.

 

sam. you said you had ski's on you'r ds with 4-snows how did they work in the snow? i ran realtors this week end and they worked ok (sucked up alot of power and still spun alot) they are a very heavy tire but did better than the other guys with knobbies.

p.s. where did you get you'r ski's?

 

No riding this weekend. we got about 14" on the ground here from lake effect snow. but the temp is slowly going up so the snow depth will be going down so I can get out there.
my skis I made like 12 years ago, orginaly for a 250r / 400ex then now for the DS. I wanted something I could put on fast and take off fast, so I made them to bolt right up to the hub. take the wheel off bolt ski up. Now this has one down side the ski will spin cuz its still on the hub. so if I jump (nothen big ) I need to hold the front break. I could fab a bracket to hold the a-arm or some thing but Ive been to lazy in the umpteen years Ive had them Ive never had a problem. here is a pick of themDS w/ skis
I bought a set of skis from a salvage yard, and fabed a plate to bolt up to the hub, cuz Im a welder working at a steel shop it was fairly ez.
they are kina cobbled but they have held up for a long time now. also I had to shorten the skis there not full lenghth it was like riding on rails at full lenghth. shorting them made them turn alot better. there a lot of fun[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

check you large tire retailers in your area belle tire, discount tire ect. who evers in your area.

...I might be interested. I'm not that familiar with what else I would need, besides skis of course, but if I could get an entire set up for a couple hundred I would be interested.

 

well i think i'm going to try to make a pair first, and see how they turn out before i take a few orders
