WOW, boy has this thread grown.....it took me 15 minutes to carch back up.....as i said before on an earlier post when some people were questioning tvi's motives and buisness practices...if u stick around this buisness long enough with any success, u ARE going to run into this type of scruteny....and mister H.P appears to be no different...in my eyes TVI nor HPR have done have done anything shady...the bottem line is they are still running a buisness, and u will NEVER be able to please everyone, and there will be customers u will NEVER please no matter what u do...i dont think your in danger of a failure, as they say.."if u build it, they will come" and that is true in all aspects of life...u keep putting up great stuff out there, and people will buy it. performence speaks for itself!!! keep your chin up.

It's funny how people on this forum complain that there is not enough aftermarket things for the DS, yet when someone comes out with some great stuff to improve our machines people finds ways to tear them apart. It's a shame it has to be that way.

sounds like HPR pull the hardest all the way through. not as much loss on the bottom.

I am a big 2 stroke fan,I have a Banshee and a Zilla,{NEITHER STOCK}and after riding and racing with my brothers DS setup by HPR.I will add one to my garage!!! We mostly trail ride in W.V. but will never turn down a chance to dragrace. His was setup for torque foremost with hp being secondary, but unless you are on a highly modded 2stroke the only way you will see his ds is from the back side!I was extremely impressed with how fast it revs for a four stroke,it was setup for low rpm torque and power, but it rips all the way throughout the powerband !!

Nick,

I dont think we have found a user in here that has had all three to tell us what gives them the most torque and bottom end all the way to the top. I mean, I could give you the what the manufacturers say. And I could give you what I have had. But to be objective, you'd probably want to find out from people that have actually used them.

Personally, I would think that most people (average users) would want a cam that performs well in the powerband from 4000 rpm-6000rpm or so.

Of course, not everyone is the "Average user" thats for sure! I know I have monsterous torque with my set up now with the Web 109 .425 lift cams. People that ride it can believe the bottom end - just stab it and it lunges forward.

I know with my 460EX build, I've learned that all the components really have to match up well in order to get the results you want. Piston, stroke, flywheel, crank, carb, CDI, cam, gearing, tires, paddles, weight - just to name a few. I ended up ripping out the stroker cuz it was the odd man out in my effort to build an EX that would compete with the YFZs up a short dune drag.

It would be cool though to find a user that has had all three, with the various combinations to get the torque that someone wants.

Yea i didnt mean it that someone had to have all three, i just threw those 3 in cause they are the top dogs ya know, all i was lookin for is like u said, if u have/had any one of those cams lets hear about its performance and where it was most noticeable, sounds like the Web cam is a low hitter and the RWR is a high rev'er and HPR just good all over

No, The web 109 hits hard all over, I just thought someone was asking about killer low end. The problem I have with the 109s is not the torque through the band, its just that they are not quick accelerating - Now Im sure I could fix some of that with a superlight piston and maybe even a lightened fly wheel. There is no doubt that the 109s can run low, medium and high, it just take a while for the revs to get going. Thats probably the nature of the design; make them even through the band, and they will no ramp anywhere. I would gladly sacrifice the low end, simply because I can, like hightower mentioned, clutch it to rev up to where I need and really go. But, on the other hand, it is nice to have a torque monster once in a while.

ODP, I also run the web 109's like I stated earlier in this topic. Did you have your cams degreed? Anyways, I agree with you about the torq and power all over. I think you may have another problem holding you back as far as reving fast. My 720 wouldnt rev fast until I got the right pipe and carb combo. I think the lectron AND/tm48mm "with 48mm intake AND snorkle tube" makes it rev fast along with a high flowing pipe with enough back pressure. The duall carbs didnt rev that fast but made great power up top not good for me on the bottom. I dont know if you have tried other stuff, But the 109's can be a great drag cam IMO.. I ran the woods 11 grind, They had great mid and bottom, but not really good up top. There is so many variables to make an engine rev fast, Kinda hard to even pinpoint it, I dont know, heck im no mechanic thats for sure.

Marky, What carb are you running on your DS now?
