Default I looked down and noticed something missing....

I bought my DS used and when I was going throu it I noticed something missing. It appears that there is supposed to be some kind of lever/**** thing on the brake lever. I am guessing its some Kind of brake lock.

Is it normal you people to remove these parts? Should I replace them or is it just bells and whistles?

On the front brake lever? If so, is it the park brake?

The park brake lever is just a little lever above the main break it just flipps over to lock the brake handle back other than that i dunno what would be missing.

Sounds to me like that's it. I never use mine because you have to really squeeze the &^%$ out of the brake to flip the little lever over. Doesn't seem like that can be good on the front brake.

I use the park brake everytime it's on the trailer- would kind be scary if it were just in gear.. and ya it's straped down too.

It is actually a much better set up than Honda, and Yamaha uses, simple but it works.

i use my parking brake all the time when trailering or i have it in the toyhauler. it also comes in handing when you are on a steep hill and for some reason or another come to a complete stop, or need to turn around...
