Default 2000 ds 650 any info????

Im looking at a 2000 ds 650 that is in really good shape. I now ride a 88 250r and hate mixing the gas on trail rides. How do these handle on trails? How are they for jumping (all stock)? Speed wise I heard they do around 75mph or so. Never owned one and just wanted to see what all of you pros could tell me about them. Thanks for any help. Ohh I can get it for $2200.

And is there any problems that the 2000s are known for? Any thing to watch for or expect to go wrong?

Ive had my 2000 for 4 yrs now and the only thing I had to do w/ mine is I updated some carb parts to 2001, pilot jet from 37.5 to 45, slide return spring and slosh bowl around main. I replaced the carb boot between the carb and motor, that was prob my fault. I did buy a 04 intake between carb and air box the 04 is stiffer. other that mines been great!! absolutely the best quad Ive owned in my 17 yrs of riding!

$2,200?! What's the guys number? I would buy another one. I haven't had to fix anything. I just keep adding things, it's habit forming. I doubt you'll hear anyone having major problems unless he drove it off a cliff, but I bet it kept running.

Thanks for the replys all. I bought it today for $2000 and he even gave me a new helmet to go with it. The only thing it needs is a light bulb. Also any one heard of the fans not working right on these. If you push the blades with a screw driver to get it going then it works, but that is the only way it turns on. Like it gets hung up or something. I have not had the chance to see how it handles or how fast it is yet. The roads are all snow covered and I just spin all over the place. Thanks again and let me know about that fan.

not sure on the fan. If there's snow on the roads, it's too cold for that fan to be coming on. I ride when it's 80 to 100 degrees and the fan only comes on when I'm riding too slow. I hope I'm wrong and that deal wasn't too good to be true.
