Default Thermostat Switch

I have read the old threads about the Temp switch, but I don't know where it is. My 03' DS overheats and the fan will not come on. I have wired the fan up direct to the battery and it works fine. Can anyone help me and tell me where, how to test, and which one it is? I think there are two of them?

On the right side of the motor at the thermastat housing is the two switches. One on top and one on the left side. The one on the side has two wires going to it and the one on top only has one wire. The one that has two wires going to it is the one that has gone bad and is the one that turns the fan on / off. The other one with the single wire is the one that will turn your red light on if you get to hot. In your case you don't want to check it...you want to chuck it
When you install your new one be sure and silicone the wires in place so that water can not get to them. This is what usually cases them to fail early.

Are you bypassing your fuse? You might have already checked it but some folks don't know theres a fuse under the seat that powers the fan. I've had mine blow twice when it got pretty wet. Just a thought.
