sproket hub removal

Default sproket hub removal

ok i completly dissassembled my rear axel. now alll i have is the axel with the carrier and sprocket hub attached. how do i get the sproket hub off so i can remove the seal on that side and remove the bearing? my bearings on the disk side were trashed wont come out?? the race on the disk hub are chewed up any suggestions?? thanks john

Default sproket hub removal

Heat the hub up, Put axle on block of wood, Hit really hard on the sproket area, on block of wood, towards the brake side to get the retaining clip free. An extra set of hands help. Once the retaining pin is free, hit the sprocket hub the other way. It is a real pain and heat it up good. Good Luck
