Suggestions for DS650 Factory Mods for Future Production Runs
#1
As with any new ATV introduction there are bound to be minor reliability issues that show themselves at the onset. DS650 owners please post any problems or suggestions for improvements. Please no more speculation, just the facts now that the machine has been released. Don't hesitate to comment on it's positives and what NOT to modify.

I do not foresee any reliability issues as far as the motor is concerned. It has been used for a couple of years now(but you know that already). Lets hope they wrapped the motor in a sturdy frame (at 480+ pounds Im sure its sturdy!)

I am from the Mudwest and those fenders on the front have got to be replaced with a one-piece frontend. The current set-up is sure to fill full of mud and create problems. Didn't the R&D department think that just maybe someone besides duners would be riding their machine? If a poll was taken, I'm sure you would find that most of use ride in the woods and on trails. Ride On!

So far the only problem I have seen on a DS is the pinch bolt one the axle lock nut loosened allowing the axle lock nut to back off and made the axle loose. Since it has tapered bearings when the lock nut gets loose the axle moves all over the place.
As far as the fenders are concerned, they work quite well. I would say they are better than the factory plastic on my lt500r. Besides, most sport machines are not made for mud boggin.

Since these are dune only machines, I guess us Fast Boys from Illinois (FBI) can't have one. That's to bad, we like to ride on a variety of machines. Has there actual production began yet or are the ones out just pre-production models? Also, where do you get one at, a Sea-Doo dealer?

After much deliberation, I decided that the DS had everything I was looking for in a quad. And I've got news for you trail riders. I don't think this machine will have any problems getting you anywhere your 400EXs will. (Unless you have trees closer than 50" together.) Don't let the Dune Only phrase fly around so much. I think this is the best all-around sport-quad.(Don't Read: Race into this) My only complaint is that it needs to go on a diet.

Has anyone had problems with the front light blowing? becoming unplugged? or just not working? My friend got one and the light stopped working the first day.
