Dave, Do you just drop off a layer of the head gasket to increase the comp? Aren't you worried about blowing a head gasket when you stack individual gaskets up?

PS...did you get your axle back together?

today when eric called and told me about my motor issues i made up my mind to run the 11:1 piston and burn pump gas!! he made a good point why run race gas with 12:1 why not go all out and run 14:1 if you'r going to do it. the difference between the 11:1 and 12:1 is so small it hardly makes any sense to do it?

I am still waiting for the brake hub wear ring should be in tomorrow then it will be together, no i didnt do anything to the head gasket the one I got from randall (222) has three different layers but there is two rivits holding it together and there was two base gaskets I had to stack together but i have been checking my oil and coolant and everything is fine no problems, my piston is a 12.1:1 but I wanted to run pump gas cause it is cheaper than the higher octane, I am not sure but I think I wanted to go to the 12.1:1 compression I could just get new base gaskets and a new head gasket and use the same piston, randall told me he had a program that could get me 11.2:1 with the 12.1:1 piston by changing the gaskets, I'm not sure if the base or the head gaskets are different for 12.1:1 or just one, like I said before I am 225 lbs 5 foot 10 and my kid is 100 lbs and he always goes with me and if I am not careful the front end will start coming up in third gear pretty easy, I am very happy with it, when I get my money in october I am either gonna buy another ds or mod mine, personally I dont think I would go any higher with the compression but maybe a set of cams, and get my gears in my tranny backcut and cryo treated, I like the pull of my stock carb so I wont go with a tm45, maybe the one off of the 450r that everyone is talking about, you going with the mrhp 12.1:1 je piston? thats the one i have
