Does the 11.5:1 piston give you any real increase in power for the money?

 

Yup

 

I didn't feel a difference when I put mine on.....................because my clutch was slipping so bad from the new power. It couldn't handle the power of the piston so I had to get stronger clutch springs. Go for it, I don't regret it.

 

I guess what i'm trying to ask is did anyone notice a dramatic difference if so where did you notice it? Off the line, Mid or Top end .

 

No, it actually wasn't a dramatic difference. Just a nice gain throughout all the RPM's.

 

Good question Terrygs28, Iv'e herd CP piston is what, Ron Woods Racing used for the Stage 3 kitts. He beleave's, that with His Cam's and Double spring, CP piston will produce enough power gain to lunch thoes DS650. I'm testing out Not the Cp piston, but the JE pistons, with the ful Ron Woods stage 2. Now adding the JE piston and having the head port, and polished, I moved up to the stage 3. The Only Problem is That my stator pick up assembley is bad, and Can-am has It on back order. "I should Have Brought a Honda TRX450r, because Parts are abundents".

 

Increased compression is always going to give you more bang for your buck. In every sence of the phrase. If you are just a trail rider and never really have your quad under load you are not going to feel the difference. But if you live in the dunes, you will find that you are going to get through the sand with much less effort and climb hills at a higher RPM or higher gear.

Now, for the real nitty gritty. I ran the RWR cp 11.5-1 piston and it was a good increase, not a bad way to go. But I then went from that to Mr Horsepower's gen 6 lightweight JE piston. Now there was not more power that I could feel, but my bike revved out way faster. I could get up to those speeds much faster then previously. All things being tested on my bike, both my dad's and my brother's bike went to gen 6 pistons because of the power and rev speed difference.

Thanks for all your input, I will give the 11.5 a try on mine, since i do live in MI near Silver lake and Roscommon I hit the sand hills alot.
