If you dont want to sacrifice top speed, then you wont want to even consider regearing by changing sprockets. The usual items to consider in a case like this is an end cap, carb and CDI. The end cap alone will do you wonders. There are several out there, simply do a search for END CAP on this forum. Some are open, some are spark arrested and I know of at least 4 different types. You can even modifiy your existing end cap as well.

I imagine when you say end cap you are talking about a new muffler. I could not find nothing under the search endcap. Where can I find the info on mrhp exhusts.

Default Help want more bottom end

Hey zilla im in the exact same situation as you are, i came from a zilla that has gobs of low end and them will pull like crazy to the ds whitch is the fastest quad of this era and it is way down on lowend power, i have the on dune performance end cap and a k&n filter and dropped 1 tooth on the fron sprocket this is a huge gain in lowend it is much better for climbing big hills, the next thing im doing is getting a carb, there is a guy on this forum that put the stock pumper carb from a trx450r on his ds and said it was a great improvement in lowend power, and the best part you ban get one from servicehonda.com for $165 this is a very cheep upgrade, my ODP end cap is nice because it is sparkarested, have a look at these before you buy one.

Lake Ariel, bout 15 min NE of Scranton

for gaining bottom end you could look at ur basics in acceleration, your drivetrain, front and rear sprockets, chain, axle, swingarm and carrier, wheel hubs, rims, and tires. Get all lightweight parts and u'll pick up speed better, like that titanium axle package from RadMFG, looks awesome. Or you could just go straight at the power supply and upgrade ur air/fuel and motor packages.
