Roll call for ds days!
#31
We should be rolling in sometime thursday afternoon. We will be in a black dodge dually with a 30 ft serria toy hauler.
Looking foward to seeing all of the guys from last year and meeting all of the new guys that will be there.
It is looking like this will be the best year so far.

I may have asked this already but here it goes again, where do all the DS guys congregate?
I don't want to find myself left out of the fun....

When you get to the first bathroom just past the Kiosk pull off to the side of the road. Get out of your rig and walk out about 100 yards towards the hill and look for any other DS owners in the area. If I recall that's about where it was setup last year. When you find the spot walk back to your rig and try to find the easiest route in. There are some rocks in the area you have navigate.
For you guys showing up early on Thursday it may be up to you to figure out exactly where camp is going to be setup. I haven't heard of anyone showing up as early as Wednesday but I could be wrong. If anyone has any caution tape it may be worth roping off a good sized area. It sounds like it should be a good turnout this year.

JMAC,
I would use a yahoo or google map as a basis for directions. See what route it gives you, they are usually good. That being said, the route that they give form So-Cali to Sand Mountain flat out SUCKS and would add several hours to the trip - so give it a try and see if the route is decent. Do a map from San Francisco to Fallon, NV. (The closest mapable city.)
Everybody,
For anyone who needs help getting in - I've been to Sand Mountain before and I'm planning to arrive with Sandaholic Thursday evening, hopefully no later than 8pm. If you plan on arriving after that point PM me and I can give you my cell phone and you can call when you get close and I could go find you on the road and help you find the group as well as point out who is where etc. That would take some of the guess work out of finding camp and everyone else. All this assuming my Verizon Tri Band cell phone works up there. Last year my AT&T (pre merger) cell phone only got reception on top of the hill but I am hoping Verizon is better out there.
Anyone know for sure if Verizon has good coverage at Sand Mountain?
