I have FRS/GMRS radios that I never used. I thought you needed a license for use of the GMRS channels?

And use the 3" wide tow straps rated no less then 30,000lbs if you are going to be pulling trailers and full sized trucks out of the sand... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] or pulling my Ford Expedition!

Oh and another thing. Airing down the tires is the best way to travel over the sand but do you guys have a way to air back up?

As far as air pressure, I do have a compressor that runs off of tuck power. Its pretty slow, so what I do is air down to 22 PSI, and air back up in Fallon. 22 PSI is not really that safe in a hard manouver on the road, so I have to be carefull, plus, its only fairly good in the sand - 15 PSI works best there, but thats simply not an option on the road. So, if I have to go down to 15PSI, I take my time to air back up to safe road levels.

 

When I had my Jeep Wrangler I got an old air conditioning compressor from the junk Yard and converted it to an air compressor. It ran off the same serpentine belt as the water pump. That set up could air-up 4 36" MT's in less then 5 minutes. Of course you loss the ability to have A/C but in a Jeep why would you want it....lol

I've gone to about 12psi at Pismo and can go anywhere I want with that. Yep, sucks when you have to pump up the tires again. . . One of these days I'll get some solution to it.

 

Yes, Fernando is coming. He still reads the forum here. Im not going to tell you what he has or what he's done to his quad - I'll save that for him. Two of his friends are also going with us.

 

It is good to hear that fernando will be coming. I still remember the first DS days when he fliped his DS over backwards at night on the hill. LOL

Jeds DS is quite a bit faster than last year as is all of the one's that we will be bringing with us. It should be some fun racing and there will be a lot of pissed off yfz's and raptors that is for sure.

I have been over the back a few times, it happens so quick that the next thing you know is you are looking towards the sky.

Now going over the front is a fear I respect! Nothing like a good endo to wake you in the morning.

 

Heck Dsaholics trailers got a compressor, I'll just bring a little twin cylinder compressor for everyone to fill up with, then theres no problems with air. I dont think airing down my load range E tires is going to help much, so Marky get your strap ready! Duneme you might need to hook to him........... now we might get some where!
