Ok.. so my ds650 has a wierd problem. I can be riding for about 15 minutes and my oil light will go on...strang thing is, i have installed a custom fan switch so when i ride i just leave the fan on the whole time, however the light still comes on. So today i decided to just keep riding with it on and nothing happened and if i would get on a straight away where i can gun it , it would go off. but even with riding with it on nothing happens. i don't under stand.. The area i ride in is dusty and around 90 degress im running 20w/50 and the light still goes on. idk thx

Red light is a dummy light so. . .
Low Oil Pressure - probably not. . . or she would have stopped by now!
Temperature - most likely. What year is the DS? Have you put a pipe / air filter on it?
90's is warm out. Without enough wind getting to the carb (trail riding) the bike can get hot. You could try richening her up in the mid (needle) and see if that helps your power and the temperature. Could be you need a new thermostat.

Give us as much info as you can so we can better help you.

my geuss is the oil pressure switch is out of range. unplug the oil pressure switch and see if that shuts the light off. if it does. then you need to confirm you have satisfactory oil pressure with a manual gauge.

Im not really sure. But a couple of weeks ago we just installed a fan switch as i said and we re-wired it to the thermostat. but what i don't understand is. if the fan is on at a constant rate from the time i turn it on till the time i stop why would the oil light go on? isn't the cooling system suposed to keep the engine cool? o an another thing sometimes i will turn the quad on the oil light will come on and then i will ride like 300ft and it will go off. i don't think it would be the sensor.. but maybe didn't check yet. anyway thanks again ps. i do have a pipe its an HMF slip on and its jetted for a 165 mikuni large jet
