Use a hair drier and a little patience to get the sticker off. I think the shop i talked to quoted me about 250.00

If you are not worried about the sticker you can leave it off. The vin is also etched into the frame under the seat.

The vin should be stamped in the frame like c5ls1vette says. I paid $200.00 to have my sons WR frame painted Yamaha blue about a year and a half ago. That included prepping the frame.

when i did the frame on mine they had just offered a coating called silver vein. this is 2 colors blended together and then clear coated. this stuff is tuff as nails, once i tried to sand blast the nerf bars after a crash ice racing and it took 10 times longer to get it off than any other powder coating. i did not worry about the vin sticker just used the stamped frame id instead.

I did the powdercoating on my own bike, the sticker I just sandblasted away, as the others have said it's stamped into the frame under the seat. I did a candy wine over white in the end, but I dropped my frame as it was being loaded into the oven, and by that time I was out of the candy wine so i said to hell with it and left it. I had also done a candy wine over silver metallicwhich turned out pretty nice, but when I went to touch up the bottom side corners and such, the powder gelled up from being heated too fast in the oven and ruined it. Man did that take forever to get off wow.

Anyways, powdercoat is the way to go, and I'd offer to do it, but shipping would probibly be more than the cost of having it done locally anyways...
