Default (NEED HELP!) How do u adjust the rear mono shock on a ds650?

I have a 03 ds650 that i baught about a year ago and it didnt come with an owners manual, or anything to adjust the rear shock . I was wondering how to adjust the rear shock, does it just turn clock wise or counter clockwise ? It looks like it has threads on it so it can be twisted. Did anybody ever do this before? What tools did u use?

Bombrider, don't fret, it's fairly simple. Just raise the bike to where the rear wheels are off of the ground, Take a large screwdriver or brass driftpin, a mallet, and loosen the top locking ring (cc). You can then turn the spring (cw) by hand, and hopefully the larger ring moves with it. Once adjusted just run the locking ring back to the other.

Are you adjusting sag?

Loosen the jam nut with a screwdriver and hammer, forget about the spanner wrench its too hard to use, grab the spring and turn the whole assembly. Righty tighty, lefty loosey.

The rebound damping adjuster is at the bottom of the shock(black head),the tool is in the tool kit.To reduce rebound turn counter clock-wise(light loads, smooth conditions), firmer ride and rough condition turn adjuster clock-wise.On the side of the shock resovoir (located under the battery) is a slotted brass screw this is for compression damping turn it counter clockwise for light load ,smooth condition or reduced compression. To increase compression(firmer ride, rough condition) turn the adjuster clockwise.
