I am considering getting the new Outlander, even after the lampooning that I have recieved by commenting on a few issues. Has anyone hunted with these things? This is what I need to know:
1. Are they loud
2. The racks look fantastic...will they carry "heavy" game?
3. handling with a 200lb. deer on board
4. Are they tippy?
5. How are they in mud?
Thanks.

I've stacked three 150-200 lb hogs on a Honda 450 Foreman and had no problems getting out of some tight places. I doubt the 800 would even break a sweat with a 200lb deer. Throw it on the front rack to keep the front end down when climbing steep hills and all is good.

I'm sure the big ol 800 twin is louder than a single cylinder 400 CC quad. Thats the price you pay for the extra power I guess. There are some aftermarket silences specifically made for hunting. I believe Cabella's has some in their catalog.

I shot a 300lb. bear in a "hole" had NO problem getting out with the King Quad...it isn't all that loud. I was wondering if you thought that loudness was an issue. Thanks.

I don't think there will be alot of difference between the Outlander and your King Quad, except the power. The Outlander sounds like a Kawasaki V-Twin, which imo is not too loud, just has a little aggressive " growl."
