Default Kids and header pipes don't mix

Just a word of warning to anyone out there with young kids. My 2 year old son got a severe burn on the inside of his hand last weekend when he grabbed a hold of the header pipe trying to climb up on my DS. I turned around for a couple of seconds and that was all it took.

Absolutely the worst feeling in the world.................

He's a tough little guy and is doing pretty good now. It is definatley nothing I want to have to go through again, and would not wish upon any body else.

I did the same thing as a kid, grabbed right on to my dad's honda 185s header.

I still have a scare on my leg (better than 20 years ago) from the exhaust on my grandfathers Harley.

Bryce,

I very sorry to here of your sons ordeal. As you mentions "It only takes a moment" for the little ones to get into something dangerous. You would think I'd know better as an adult but I've done the same thing your son did although I was under the bike...

The bad thing is they don't always learn the first time so needless to say WATCH HIM !.....

Bummer, hope he is doing better. My 2 year old, was putting around with his Grandpa and put his ankle right on the pipe. It took me almost a month to get him riding again. I kept pointing to the bikes going owie owie owie. It is all good now, but it don't take but a second. Unfortunatly, I am sure we have all done it. I have one on my leg from 20+ years ago.
