Drilling wheel to fit the DS

How many of you guys have drilled the DS bolt pattern into aluminum wheels and with what results? I'm just curious about all of the torque these things put out and having eight holes intsead of four in the wheel if it's really safe or not, and durable? I've seen and heard of several people doing it, but I'm looking for some long term answers. How did they hold up over lots of usage.
I need to make sure the integrity is still there before I decide if it's financially beneficial to do this or not. I just know every other bolt pattern besides ours is much less costly.
Most of the application would be in the sand, no trails or lots of rocks.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I let mrhp mod a set of rear hubs to work on yamaha or bomb pattern. On the front you can use a file and work on the holes just a little to run honda pattern. I have seen some wheels on my brothers quazilla that someone had drilled an extra set of holes, and they have been fine on rought terrain in WV.
