"cheap made honda"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??????????????????? I guess the HIGH majority of atv owners across this great country of ours prefer "cheap" atv's. I am not backing them and them only, nor do I own a Honda....but cheap?

We got a DVD in the mail where they tested it and the 400 against other quads in it's class on all kinds of different terrain. Both pretty much won in every catagory. Watching it is what got me thinking I wanted the 400 then I found out they are coming out w/ the 650 XT 4x4 so I am going to waite for that.
I just did a quick search of his office for the DVD but could not find it. Maybe if you go to the Bombardier website they will have it on there.

The guy who runs atvonlinemagazine.com has a lot of Outlander 800 info and videos.
As far as gas mileage, my 800 has 0.5 miles on the odometer and the temps here are in the teens. I will let you know on that mileage thing later.

Oh yeah,,,,and the "cheap made Honda" comment. Ya gotta love those polaris guys eh? Rabid fanatical allegience to one manufacturer is admirable in a weird sort of way. Tiresome? Yes,,,that too.

Anyways...
"The KVF 360 (or Prairie) was slow and gutless. Our little Fourtrax 250 beat it in a drag race over and over. It was harsh riding, stiff, and lots of body roll, very hard steering, and overall lazy feeling. The engine braking was inconsistent and jerky. It was hard starting. The engine was noisy and the cooling fan ran a lot, perhaps because it's aircooled lol. I didn't like fiddling with that front end lock gizmo either. Besides, when you're hanging off the side you can't reach it anyways. There was also a solenoid assy. that had something to do with the clutch that engaged and disengaged every time you turned the key and was constantly adjusting itself as you rode (something to let you down on the trail). I knew from the first 30 seconds of riding it, it was a bad choice. Took a bath trading it in after only 30 hours, but it was the smartest move. You can't even compare the two machines, they are light years apart."
That last sentence sums it up. The 400 is really fun, comfortable, and surprisingly sporty to ride. The 360 is/was (hahaha) exhausting, boring, and frustrating.
Hope this helps,
Cache.

Cacheloa,
Thanks for your help. By the way yes I can afford it. LOL. If I could not afford it I would not have mad the post. Anyhow I have now deceided that since I outgrew my 250 in a month and I had the Prarie 360 WOT and was bored that I need a little more power Think I may outgrow the 400 too quickly so now I was thinking the Bombardier 800 until my dealer told me it was crap? A friend of mine suggested the Kawaski Brute Force 650 and it is cheaper so I am undeceided. I do know I am going w/ a 650+ 4x4 as I am a quick learner. LOL. Price is not an issue. What do you think would be the be the safest in terms of rolling along w/ the most powerful quad so I can ride in various terrain? Snow/rocks/hills/coal hills/etc...?

IF your dealer said it was "crap" then he's an idiot and I'd look for another dealer.
Brute Force 650 vs Outlander 650 apples and oranges IMO. The Outlander has IRS, is much more comfortable and has EFI, visco loc 4WD. I'm not knocking Kawi but IMO the Outlander is a superior machine.
