The BF650 has an IRS option for '06 as well.

Well I thought so too. I think my dealer may have said that because they do not sell the Bombardier ATV's. I bought my Bombardier jet ski from them and asked whey they sold one and not the other and he said "Bombardier ATV's are crap". He said everyone he knows who has one has had nothing but problems w/ it. From the DVD I saw and being on their website I had thought it was pretty much the biggest, baddest quad out there? Then he tells me it's junk and I kinda trust what he says. None of you who own the 800 have had any problems so far? Also how long have you owned them and how many hours do you think you have put on them so far?

Megan,

my rookie ears perk up at the sound of your dealer saying the Bomb is crap. I can't offer an opinion on it but when so many folks like it that have purchased it.....it sounds awfully suspicious since he doesn't sell Bomb ATV's.

Are you considering the '06 Rincon too or most likely sticking with a BRP?

Yeah I agree. I'm sure if they sold it they would have a different opinion. Although they say the reason they do not sell it is because it is crap. I am also considering a 650 Brute Force and 650 Prarie. Ideally I wanted the 650XT Outlander but then I heard it is not coming out until Feb/Mar and I do not think I can waite that long. Especially now that we have snow on the ground.

My friend Jeff had a BF and one ride on the new Bomb 800 and its now sitting where the BF USE to..I also own the two seater [MAX] 800,and IMO,its a super nice 4x4..

I dont know of anyone that is having any real issues with them either.I have allmost 300 miles on mine and I like it more each time I take it out.Im coming off of a 2005 King Quad.Though its a super ATV,I like the 800 Outlander much more.

Your dealer is a nut case.

Mud4Life,
Have you noticed any difficulty in tight situtations with the extended wheelbase model? I own 2 ACs, a 650V2 and a 500i auto. I'm thinking about selling the 500 for an 800 Bomb MAX, but was wondering about the longer wheelbase. I recently drove a 800 and it seems to ride smaller than it is - and that's a good thing.

Also how many miles per tank do you get in normal riding? I really like the 6.5 gal tank on my 650 and was wondering how the 800 compares.

Thanks.

He really said crap? I've beaten my Outlander and it just keeps taking more. BRP's ATV's are fairly new to the market so they have little to no market share and are probably harde to move in areas where the name isn't as well known. Just remember the most popular/best selling THINGS are not necessarily the best.

IMO the Outlander line is one of the most innovative line of ATV's on the market.

Yeah he really said "crap". Like I said I bought my Bombardier jet ski there so it did'nt make sense to me why they would sell Bombardier jet skis and not ATV's. They said they use to carry them. Although you may be right. The $ is high so maybe that is why they do not carry them although if I was a dealer I would want to sell the higher priced ATV's so I would carry atleast one. They are a pretty popular dealer and are located in a City where people do have the money to spend on them? Anyway I am still undeceided I talked to the president of my ATV club and he recommended the Artic Cat 650 so now I am going to do a little research on that. He said the 800 has more power than I will ever need and since this is the 1st year I should let them work out all the bugs before purchasing. He has been riding for 15+ years so I do trust what he says. Plus he rides w/ me so he would probably be one of the people to know what would be best for me.

I'm actually a Polaris and bombardier guy, I truly believe they build a better product than the japs do. My opinion!! the Polaris has been rated best of the best . More innovation, more storage, smoothest ride out of all other ATVs, gobs of power, best awd. good looking ATVs. thick plastic, big axle. every things easy to get to do maintness. steel frame and undercarriage. some of the first Polaris had issues and i wouldn't even waist good money on them.

JimJa,
one of the biggest reasons I went with the MAX is because it is only 8 inches longer than a standard 800 and I can remove the passenger seat and install the factory cargo box in its place [hard to tell its a 2 seater like this].If my wife wants to ride with me,than I'll install the seat and ride away.

At first,it took some getting use to,but now,its all good and I love the ATV and the fact that I can ride 2-up.

I average about 80-90 miles on a tank, depending on the terrain.
