Eric, any idea what the Outy 800 motor ways???? I'm thinking that the DS motor is in the 100lb range.... but that's just a guess.

I still think we should get shirts though!

I'm sure that there is a lot of R&D that has to go into the Outy motor, but that where I think it needs to go. If you are getting that much so quick, there has to be more there I'm sure.

If the Outy 800 is too heavy, then BRP may have to look at a sport based twin or even better a side by side two cylinder. I know that the Vforce motor is a heavy one too, but they are doing some pretty incredible things with it. That said, I think Eric is right on the nose.... most of the kawi's work is all in the head, carb and cams.

Eric, the way I see it you need to get me to about 180hp to take my size out of the equation.
If you need 180hp, I will need 200+ reliable!! Is it possible??

Yea, that is a very light DS. Are you talking about the DS in your Gallary? That wheelie bar alone must way 30 pounds!

I absolutely argee that with a small shot of juice, we can get 100hp. I would think that would be fairly easy.... well not easy, but very do-able.

I know that the Vtwin from Kawi is making over 110 at the crank with no juice. abviously you can take the the 18% at the rear. That's putting them somewhere in the 90's. On top of that, they are running 30 - 40 shots via Boondocker. Seen them in action and they are impressive at 550lbs plus.

I hope to see some HPR backed shockers at 4SW.

I'm hoping to get at least 40hp out of mine

I keep pointing back to the motor we all have between out frame rails right now. With a reliable big bore, carb, cams, and pipe and a small shot of N2O your looking at a reliable 100HP and huge torque all below 8000rpm. All this setting on the best suspended dune bike in the world. Who else in the quad world can say that!! Now we all know the DS is a little heavy but take a good look at pics of my bike during FSW last year, it looks very stockish yet only weighed 377lbs and that's with factory shocks. The DS is a bad boy we just have to touch it up in a few places.

I agree 120%
