Scooby, that is exactly right. I know they have some fast 450's in other areas. But we know all to well just how well some of these high strung 450's over here can put the power to the ground. They have sent some bigbores back to the trailer that were making twice as much horsepower. I think thats what Im gonna aim for with my build. (High Rev, High Hp in the higher rpm range)

Years ago I wanted to add a 760+cc kit to my turbo to produce 150HP. I couldn't get the parts so I said screw it. It's too bad, now there's a Raptor at 150HP. Where's a 150HP DS? oh well...

there will be some tough competition on MLK weekend. I'm not going though

Yeah, I think its pretty pathetic that you cant get the "new" parts that would make the power that you and I both know that you can make. It makes me sick. How easy would it be for you to bust out with 150hp on a DS. I guess there are some who want to claim that victory as well.....

I may regret asking this but why can't you get the parts you need?

What dyno? Has the dyno sheet ever been posted? Where is that motor- I've never seen it run- is it for sale?

Now that's interesting.....a stock bike making 45hp makes around 40ft-lbs of torque ON GAS! A carb and endcap makes 48 ft-lbs,
Hard1 800 makes close to 90hp from 8000rpm to 9500rpm with about 62 ft-lbs or torque, Tim Trank makes around 76hp at 8000rpm with 56ft-lbs of torque on a SINGLE carb 730. My point is: 80hp and 40's torque? Remember peak hp doesn't mean anything- avg hp and avg torque wins races.

I know the fcr's lose torque, but alky adds torque in buckets...I would really like to see the graph...I've not seen a curve anything like this.

Only paper copies of the dyno sheets, Mike never bragged about dyno numbers, cause they are just numbers, but the Dyno he used was in Tulsa. His best time at ATOKA sand draggs was 4.80 his DS wieghed 450lbs.

The motor was in Corsicana TX. last I heard. Have no idea what condition it is in now.

AS you know the "power" is in the head. Great port work, and great combination of compression, timing, Spark, and Fuel is key. I just sold Mario the sister to that motor for 1200. I couldn't run the bigger cams, and cam timing cause of my wieght . Just not enough torque for my Phat-***.LOL.

We ran different cams, different piston, different drag pipes, different cam timing, and different jetting. I tuned my motor to work best for ME and my set-up. He tuned his for him and his set-up. we both had the same headwork.

Thats being said, put my old motor on alky/nitro through dual 39FCR's and it will crank over 70hp with allot of torque also.

yeah, the dyno was in Oklahoma, that's where they were from.

no dyno sheet has been posted of the motor I'm talking about. but DSMIKE had 2 of these motors and also helped bigger with his. DSMIKE had his DS's at a past Glamis MLK weekend annual event. there was a dyno of the milder of his two setups by Ohton racing - i'll see if i can find it. not sure if he had switched to dual carbs yet though for that dyno.

DSMIKE beat a full race pami 760 with his motor at Atoka sand drags so it's not all about torque.

The motors have since been sold, last I knew of them they were in Texas.

I was just doing some calculations: 10,000RPM, 80HP, 42ft-lbs
