Default Good Replacement for Stock Piston ?

Hi Guys,
Just curious if one wanted to use the stock Jug what do you think is the best Piston / UpGrade to go with as far as Compression goes ?
I think the 730 kit is the way to go but its also a bit out of my price range right now... I would like a little more power ! and I know the stock compression is kind of low. I am planning my Summer Time MOD and want to hear what you think ?
I primarily ride the Dunes but ocasionally run wide open fire roads and trails.
I seen Alba sells a piston / valve kit but its kind of pricy too !
The RW piston is interesting but pricy ... for just a piston swap ?
Anybody got a perfectly good 12:1 piston laying around for the stock Jug they are willing to sell ?
Just need more snappy responsiveness....
Thanks

if you want a great increase in all around power, PM THEBOM and tell him you want a 14:1 piston, and a TM45mm mukuni set up for ALKY. even with the stock cams this will get you that wheel standing, arm pumping, hair rising power you've been wanting. for the money its a great way to go IMO.

if you want to stay with Gas, then I would go with 11:5(so you can afford to ride still) and a set of cams to help out with the power you want. also with a 45mm carb.

Default Good Replacement for Stock Piston ?

Hey Bigger,

Any idea what the stock DS compression is ?
11.5:1 sounds pretty good.... just want to make sure I keep away from any kind of detonation problems !
Just a straight swap right ? retune and your good ?
I just know the 730 kit and needed head work to realy support it will run me 3 G easy ...
But I can up the compression on the piston for a few bills....
If I get say 3 - 5 more hp I will be happy with it.
I am already running the RW Exhaust, CDI, TM45 carb and ported intake with k&n filter and no air box.
I think piston is where I am at now...
I think ALKY is a little much for me...
Thanks for the help ...

Stock Compression is 9.8 to one.
2.5 to 3 hp increase
Torque will increase and be a broader band. This is where you will feel the biggest hit.

Thanks OldMan,
Just curious what's the Max compression you can run on Pump 91 octaine gas avoiding any kind of detonation problems!
I mean its a given I want the most bang for the buck but Drag racing is only about 1% of my type of riding.
Cruzeing the dunes with friends is my primary type of riding and don't want to run into any problems.
I think 12-1 should be about the max right ?
Curious if I should go with bigger valves and maybe get some head work done while the top end is apart ?
Still trying to keep things econimical .... with in reason...

Thanks again for the help...
