Default laker custom plastic

I would think you would want a more flexible fender than the stiff ones to paint. There is supposed to be a new ingredient that you mix with the paint so it does not get that egg shell cracked look if the fender gets folded or bent a little. I dont know if it bleaches into the fender itself or what. I was thinking that maybe it causes some kind of chemical reaction and allows the color to be drawn into the actual plastic. I know you are supposed to rough up your plastics with an sos pad or even a light weight sand paper to get the paint to stick to the plastic. I really dont know, im a farmer not a painter, its interesting though.

well the only reason i said easier is because i read awhile ago that all the other brand quad stock fenders were easier to paint because the paint bonded easier then our ds stock plastics.

The laker plastic is much easier to paint. it is made from polypropolene instead of polyethelene like the stock. The laker stuff is like painting a foreign car bumper, while the OEM is like trying to paint teflon, its not designed to have paint adhere to it. I do have the formula for John Deere green[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
