Light weight non-molded front sand tires
#1
Is there anyone out ther that makes a light weight non-molded 23" front sand tire? Or even a 22" I'm currently running 22" sand stars that turn on a dime but they are kind of heavy. My buddy has a set of Mohawk's on his 250R and I swear they feel like they are about a 1/3 of the weight. Unfortunately Skat-Trak only makes them in 21" which is really to short when running 22" rears for serious duning. I see RMATV sells AMS fronts in 23" however they look to be molded and I suspect are just as heavy as what I already have. What else is out there?

They will do them any way you want. Mohawk or smooth buff. I am having mine done in a mohawk. If you go to rocky mountain atv and look at the picture of the kenda max you will see the tread pattern in the center is the same as the mohawk.

You must have got one of the last set of Kenda's from RMATV. They are showing back order until March Just my luck.
Let us know how they turned out when you get them back from Skat-Trak.

Some of the top quality molded sand tires are from Sand Tires Unlimited. They have a 22" front tire that they claim is 6lbs. I have no idea if that is light or not, but atleast you have a number for comparision. I know they can groove their paddle tires for light weight, maybe they can do the same for the front?
