Hi Guys. Well I have a bent axle. I noticed the wobble. I put the x on a jack stand and can see the bend. Left side. The brake caliper is actually moving back and forth. I read some posts were guys got them straightend out, But I dont want the down time. If I was to purchase a new one what do you guys recommend stock or aftermarket? Duarblue has one but I heard they are not as good as stock. Any info would be much appreciated. Maybe even someone would have one to spare. Thanks, Derek

 

as for straightening it out i got my buddys axle strightned out at a shop with a press. they were a heat treating shop that did car axles and the guys knew what they were doin, only cost me $20. if you want to spend a little more then get a used one off EBAY. it sounds like your's is pretty tweaked though if its bent right at the carrier. check for cracked bearings, that happened on his too and ne needed a new carrier and bearings to fix it, or if you have to just get a new one from a dealer. and it's totally easy enough to change out yourself.....latersssssssss josh...

mine got bent i got it straitened for cheap and now im pretty sure its bent again...i was looking at the stock width durablue axle on rockymountainatv for 280 or so...went down from the 350 doller price.

 

ive bent mine twice , once was both sides. i straightend it both times. then i bought a durablue and bent it once and straightend it. they guarantee it but you will be down 1 or 2 months if you wait on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

bent a durablue and bent both sides of the stock axle...any chance you jump high?

 

i do a little jumping, but i ride some rough stuff here in ky

 

My buddy got his straightened at a shop for $20 bucks, good as new.

 

Axle straightening will be a 50/50 chance to get it back perfect. Chance are you will be better off finding used on on ebay or from one of the fellow forum members. A bent axle is kinda like a shackle without a pin....useless. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
