Default outy 800 ride reveiw

well, the wife and i went riding yesterday and it was the first real time the outy was out beside a few short rides and some snow stuff...anyway i was on the ds and her on the 800...

we rode for a few hrs and switched back and forth...this thing completely blows my mind..

it has so much power, to start she was just floating thru the trails following me on my ds. there was a little snow and i wa struggling and kept looking back and she was looking like she was having a picnic..grin from ear to ear..then i was climbing this hill slid into a rut and flipped over ,she cilmbed right past me and laughed all the way to top..once i flipped it back up i caught up to her..we got to the sand pit..i mounted the 800 and was off--the seat on this thing has to atleast 2 inches think..i thought the ds was comfy..no shot this this rules with comfort...then i climbed some sick hills and made it up with no problem..hills i dreamed of climbing all my life at this pit..these are the hills that people only go down..i have never see anyone go up..im sure they could but i never saw it...

anyway we went to a few smaller hill climbs that most people go up about 4 story climbkind of steep so my wife could practice..she was scared so i was like watch this there were a few people around and maybe she was embarrassed..I i climbed this thing is in reverse.. people were bugging out..

i am not sure we im going wth this except the outy 800 is sick...power to dream of, comfort of a lazy boy recliner and the stability of a tank...not to mention she beat me in a few short races at the pit..4 wheel drive was hooking up better than me..my excuse

i love this thing...best decision we made on a quad yet!

next wk i will post pics and a video of our ride, i forgot the camera this time

I want to know how it compares to the other big bores.I know the magazines and tv ads are really talking it up,and it might really be a rocket.Bombardier makes some great quads.Just want to know from someone that actually has one.Thanks.

chirochris-----you were talking about ascending steep inclines, did you see in the owner's manual a warning that the outy will climb steeper hills than it can come down? If you can just barely get up one with good traction, the book says come back down some other way.

RDZ350-----I sold my two Prairies to get the Outy, and one of them, the '05 P700 would flat get down the road, and do even better on the trails. I was riding a loaner BF750 when I ran into a guy with an Outy, we switched rides for about 10 minutes, as you can see I now have an outy over Kawi's Prairie or BF, and I really liked that Prairie. Also, there is a long comparison thread on this forum yesterday between the Rincon and the Outy 800. The guy owned one of each. He gave props to the Rincon in every area but power, therefore he bought the power, I mean the Outy 800. Just get on one and ride it, if it scares you a little bit, you'll get used to it and want more. Don't ride an 800XT, just the 800, because the winch, big tires and front bumper tend to hold the front end down on the XT (it will still wheelie, just not as easy)

chirochris, yes that hill thing is in my book on page 47 under the caption Downhill Driving. Kinda surprised me too when I read it.
