The new bike is a 523 stroker yfz. Right now it does not run, I hope it is not a lemon. The little I rode it it seems to have more power than my other one.

Sounds like July 29-30 is looking farily good for many, lets keep this post alive and see if it sticks...
I'm open to suggestions, this is just the first one I had to throw out...
But I'm Hoping for July 29-30...
As mentioned I will host a webpage for it, so that we can post links to it on all the forums and not have to keep rewriting all the details over and over...I will get the webpage up by the end of this week, friday at latest.
Who wants to vollunteer for making up some sort of organization for drags?
For those interested, Badlands is 6 hours south of Silver Lake, there is camping at the Badlands now, and also lodging near by. When I make the webpage for DS Days I will include links to Badlands and links for local lodging and campgrounds, as well as links for all the Silver Lake info. I live one hour from Badlands, know it well, so if there is interest here too then we can plan a day after Silver Lake and I'll give the grand tour.
FYI Silver Lake is 500 acres of ridable dunes, badlands is 800 acres of a mix of open sand hills and woods trails, the sand at badlands is not dune sand, it is gravelly and does not drift, so bring knobbies for it cause it will eat paddles for lunch.

By the way, who started this "DS Days" ideas over here - was it Bombsaint that mentioned it first?
And what do we "officially" want to call this event - it will be in the webpage address...and at the top of the page.

a 750 you say? Very interesting. Bores come in all shapes and sizes these days! I am looking forward to checking out your new machine wayne, I bet that thing scoots.
I have only once met up with a fairly large amount of fellow ds riders @ the badlands quite awhile back but have met a few others off and on through trades and riding spots.
Badlands is a fun park but like HT said it is definitely heavy "sand" more or less a small pea gravel. If you like rutted out challenging hills that is the place to go! Hopefully it stays dry and we have some nice powdery sand for july. End of july weekend is fine by me by the way. Again just a matter of putting it down in the calendar now so that when the time comes close nobody has a "sorry" already have this and this planned.
We should bump this thread once a week until the date so that everyone has a chance to see it and plan for it.

i think that east coast ds-days on july 29-30 would be absolutely great. it is way over due for the woods riders and trail riders and guys east of the mississippi that want some sand and cant afford to drive 24-30 hours straight at approx. 2.45 a gallon with a trailer. this should be a blast. i dont have a 730, or a 800, and sure as heck cant find a used tm45 for a good price but nonetheless i cant wait to ride with a pack of guys who love the ds as much as me. i hope everyone can plan to be there and maybe even lodge or camp together so we can get rowdy after the sun goes down.

East Coast DS Days it is!
Yes I agree its about riding and having fun, and yes drags are fun so we need some of that too, but its only a small part of it all.
My favorite is perimeter laps - a long centipede chain of quads comes into the entrance, turns left and climbs test hill, and keeps going ***** to the wall over all the main dunes turing right when the exit area is reached and following the boundary all the way around to lake Michigan, full throttle 5th gear all the way to the far boundary and follow it back to test hill, then the lead man drops to the back for a new leader to take over and set the pace, and just dropping leaders back until everybody has led, and each leader gets to add his own spice taking variations through the tree trails and mixing it up a bit. Anybody that gets stuck along the way is left behind and either catches up or is picked up on the next lap, cause its small enough that laps are fairly short time anyway, its just an opportunity to ride ***** to the wall for like an hour or two straight without stopping - very exhillerating! and the bistanders and jeep tour famlies and kids and stuff really get a kick out of seeing a big centipede of quads come snaking along hammer down roosting up a storm, and when you get over the last big dune and have the exit on your left there is always a few people and some kids hanging around on the benches there that just love watching a little air off that razor lip and wheelies at the bottom!

I am not one for poetry but what you just typed was pure bliss..haha. I am so ready to hit some sand its not even funny! My whole group has been tortured this winter watching constant duning videos. The problem with my group is some of my buddies dads are not quite as energetic or advanced as the "young guys" and therefore we have to keep the pace relatively slow when they are with us. I expect we can keep up some pretty good lap times with all of us cruising I will make sure to bring the new digi cam and video camera (possibly helmet cam) and get some good footage to put up on the site and share once we are done.

i have never been to silver lake. they do not allow night riding do they? i dont think they would, but have no clue. i love riding at night in the woods. its a blast. anyway now you guys got me smiling at the computer thinking about a train of ds's tearing a$$ around the sand with people wondering "what kind of quad is that with those weird front fenders?"
