My twist is connected to the EFI system, so I don't know about connecting to a carb.

It pretty much comes down to what you are used to. It your have a motorcycle background, you will want the twist throttle. If you have always used a thumb throttle, then a twist feels un-natural to you. I even saw a guy using a PULL throttle from a PWC, as he had PWC background that was the most comfortable for him.

One neat thing with a twist throttle. When someone wants to try out your bike, just ask them if the are used to a twist throttle. Most people don't want to ride it after that. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

He is used to them, from riding dirt and street bikes back in the day. I am used to them from riding dirt bikes for a spell, but I really prefer the thumb for the way I ride the quad. I am going to get him one, as he really wants it so we shall see [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

As for the swingarm, yes he is getting one. All three of us will eventually...But he can buy his own swingarm, that is a bit much for a b-day present [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] In case anyone wants to know he wants a +5.
