I can show you a dyno curve with 109s that will blow your mind!! They are very potent on bottom with a quik and early torq peak and hp peaked all the way till about 9k. Theres other component in the motor that will make the cam show diff power I would assume. I was running high comp.

i am running a high compression piston, so i dont notic any loss on the bottem, for that matter , i think i gained a little on the bottem. that might be due to my port work tho... it really doesnt matter though, once u thump it there is only a split second before u come on cam, then after that HOLDDDDDDD ONNNNNNNNN!!! lol

Im going to use a guy named George Marston we met back in 88 when he used to work for Selveys, I used him on my 200x and my 350X, and a few friends 400ex's he also has done a ton of the Honda 450's He made some fricken reliable fast toys for me in the past with some 2 strokes.

have they been doing a lot of aluminum sleeves? curious about the system to get the sleeve to weld in place, do they heat the whole unit? keep us informed how it goes, oh what head gasket are you advised to use?

Mario has a point. The other component I would guess is porting. I can't say my porting was well matched to my 109's and that could be part of my problem. It sounds like whoever ported the Ninja's motor either got lucky or knew exactly how to size and shape the ports to complement his valve size and cam profile. That is the goal, to match everthing so it works well together.

I still hold to the idea that if you match valves and porting to HP3's, HP4's and HP5's, you will make more average and peak horsepower than is possible with 109's but that isn't really an option. Find someone who knows 109's to port your head and it should deliver power like Mario described.

Btw, my HP4's have close to .025 more lift and a much more aggressive duration than my 109's did according to my calipers. I noticed the biggest gains from 2000 to 5000 rpm when I upgraded from 109's to HP4's.

I should have dyno sheets on both in a couple of days that I can post.

Ron
