Nearest town was posted in here before, but I do know that Delta is about 40mi from the dunes, along with Nephi it also is about 40mi away. No showers unless you already have one, there are flushing toilets and water facets for drinking. All the roads are paved and the ground is still sand, but it is firm, in other words you won't need 4wd. As for the weather, it should be nice, we usually don't get any real weather until about halloween. As far as a hospital, I can help you till the helicopter gets there, I am a certified EMT.

Scott, just leave the day before Mario does, stop into the casinos, loose some money, drink some fine watered down free as long as your gambling drinks, and then leave the next day with Mario, then it wont seem as long.
I would expect the weather to be hot, so dress and pack accordingly. Of course we are in the desert, so nights will get chilly, and mother nature can throw anything at ya.

From Fresno you COULD roll through Vegas, but looking at Yahoo Maps, that will almost double your travel distance. Try a Yahoo Map from Fresno, CA to Delta, UT and you'll go no where near Vegas.
Now from LA, we'll drive straight through Vegas, though stopping at the Casinos is optional.

Info below on registrations provided by Air - a Utah local.
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, and Washington all have Registrations that are recognized in Utah, anyone else has to buy a out of state registration.
On a holiday weekend they will enforce.
I'll get this info added to the DS Days website.

I just wanted to reiterate what Major brought up in another post. The rumor has it that Tvi (Gary), has been working with the vp at Can-Am, and it looks like they may bring there company semi to Ds days this year. That could be alot of fun. I have talked with my local dealer, and it looks like they may show up as well with parts and quads if anyone is in the need.
Boss will be there as well with Marky. There will also be other vendors there that are the norm for a busy weekend.
So just a reminder. Labor Day weekend. Thursday August 31 - Monday September 4, Sand Mountain Utah(Little Sahara recreation area). Make sure you attend this event, it will be one for the ages. By the way, I am still working on getting Eric and Randall there from HPR. Now if we could only talk THEBOM into coming, we would just about have our bases loaded with all the builders.
I also talked with some locals that put on a 4 stroke shootout last year during labor day, and they will try to get another going this year as well. So for those of you who like to drag, this would be fun. There will be trophy's and all.
Later Jed.
