Desert Tire Size??
I like the 22inch alltracs from Maxis. I do a lot of desert riding, and they give you an extra bit of lift. The extra lift helps clear a lot of stuff and opens the gearing up a bit. See what Choose has, but definitely get the 22's.
Also, I've found that you'll do less gearing changes if you ride dunes at all. Most dune riders prefer a shorter gear for the dunes. Problem is that when you get back and play in the desert, you have no gearing at all for the higher speed runs. With the 22's it gets you back where you need to be and are more comphy in the desert. The alltracs are burly and tough. They are heavy, but have real good protection. I wouldn't run anything else out here in the SW desert.
