one thing's for sure, BRP is the producer of the best sled. That's their field of expertise. As far as wheelers, there is so much competiton that you pick what's best for you. It's good to see you're not brand loyal and have an open mind. That's the only way to pick out the best quad for you. Don't think I'm brand loyal just because I have 2 zuki quads. I bought the lt when I first got back into riding and got a good deal, I was actually looking for a trx250r. I chose my z for the riding I'd be doing and the price. If I ever get a utility, I want to get the outy too. I'd get the 2 up though for the family.
I also got a little revved when I read the title. I don't have a BRP wheeler, but my sled is a BRP brand.

Sep1, now that you have seen the light you need to learn to just say WTF and go ahead and trade them. You know once you have road the best that there is no going back. You won't even want to get back on the BF with that Outy calling your name now. good to see you found the light.

CC1999,
I know you have a lot of experience based on reading your posts here and on other sites. Do you have sugestions/ must haves for the Bomb. The machine I rode is identical to the one you ( I won't say have, since I know by now you probably have it up to 1600cc, supercharged with NOS) bought. I was thinking rims and tires since the stockers don't look like they have the best traction and some after market skids based on reading what La Tex? on the Highlifter forum states.

Sep1, I have not gone into the motors yet, still researching my options at this point if there are any. But the HMF pipe and Dobeck fuel control required to use the pipe are good mod's and are worth 4-5 hp on the dyno. Not just HMF's dyno but ours as well, we check it before we put the pipe on so we would know for sure what we got. I do have a Boss Noss kit on order that I should have in a week or so. I let you know how that works out. The OEM wheels are less than what I would call atractive, I had mine swapped out befor I was seen riding it but I am insanley particular about how my machines look. I recomend if you realy like the way it performs that you try and stay with wheels and tire that are not so heavy that they kill the performance that you are so impressed with. Keep this rule in mind that for every pound of unsprung weight you add is = to about 5lbs of sprung weight. So for example 27" mud tires and heavy rims will add about 25lbs per tire x 4 = 100 additional lbs of unsprung weight x 5 = 500lbs of sprung weight. That is an extream comparison but you get the meaning. I am running a set of ITP c - series with the OEM radials on one of mine and a set of Maxis 8 spokes with 25" Bighorns(actual measures 26"+) on the Outy. The Maxis bighorn set up is great for allaround use and I only gained about 11-12lbs per wheel and tire giving a total effect about = 200lbs unsprung weight. I should mention that the 5 lb rule is more for loose dirt that the rule for sand varies by the type of sand anywhere from 5-8lbs in effect. On hard pack to pavement you are down to around 2-3lbs effect by the unsprung weight. I am probably confusing you with all of this, but I have seen so many people go out and buy massive tires and wheels for there large cc quads and then wonder why some bone stock 400-450cc 4x4 out runs them. The maxis 8 spoke is a relatively light wheel and the bighorn does weigh more than the stock tire but to me it is worth it out on our all day trail rides in the mountains not to have ot wory so much about flats. The c-series wheels are ok but they are heavy compared to the maxis 8 spoke. Where are you going to be riding it might help me direct you better as what to look at.

CC1999,
Thanks for the info. Currently I'm running the ITP C-series on 25'ATR's on my Brute and they seem to work great for my type of ridding. The trails I ride on are usually a combo of hard pack dirt, rock, log etc.. Typical moutain trails with an occitional swamp that you have to pass through. I'm not a big fan of super size tires with really aggressive tread. I learned my lesson with this set up when I decided to put 25' Bi/Tri-claw set up on my 500 Scrambler a few years back. I think you loose to much handleing and overall performance, although it was good for deep snow. I also think the stock wheels are ugly as hell and I do plan on upgrading just for the "bling" factor. I was thinking about staying with the ATR's on a set of type 6's for the bomb just moving up to the 26'. As far as other mods go. I need to get the darn thing first, then see what I can tinker with. The pipe sounds good if you have proven a 4-5hp gain. I have a pipe on the Brute which I feel did nothing but make it louder, sounds good but seat of the pants tells me I gained nothing. It did however make the bike run better at low speed no miss/hesitation or glowing red pipe as others have reported.
