beat a kfx 700 on the ds
i went ridin with a kfx 700 today and after we got done on the trails we did alittle racing on the road and it didnt stand a chance with me, i pulled from the start and he just finally stopped and were both stock. Well once we got done racing he wanted to ride mine and i rode his, well ill tell yea one thing im glad i picked the DS. The suspension on the kfx felt so stiff its like it didnt even have any suspension. Its a fun quad though they wheelie like no other and i like the fact that theres no chain and the break is sealed so yuo dont have to replace it, but other than that i just felt a lot better once i got back on my machine, i think it was worth the extra money. I cant wait till i put a pipe on it, everytime i ride it i like it even more.

im surprised you beat him so bad, my friend has a 700 and hes stock and im not and he kills me all the time, might have to do with the fact my tires are bald? but as far as on the trail ive never seen him have a problem, goes really well through all terrains. they may be big but they handle well for there size

A pipe will wake it up, so does a 15 tooth front sprocket. My cousin has a kfx700 too and he doesnt stand a chance either, but he also has about 150lbs on me too. Those 700's really take off good, if they had a tranny I don't think the ds would be the faster quad.

Stock for Stock, the DS is generally faster. It's close and may depend on the launch and the race needs to be less than 300ft for the KFX to stand a chance. The DS has WAY better suspenssion.
With comparable bolt on mods, my experiance has been that the KFX tends to benefit more. I have to disagree about the comment that the Auto hurts the KFX's performance. The Auto does rob power, but with a $20 Spring you can make huge gains in performance. The other advange is that you Never miss a shift, plus with the hit of the throttle, the motor goes right to (If set up right.) it's peak HP RPM and stays there. That is the best way to get all of the power to the ground.
The DS never stops amazing me, and would definately be my second choice were I ever to get rid of my KFX730
