I also remember an incident with BIG D the same trip. You guy's have the same crash styles, uphill over backwards Still nobody has topped Marky's roll over last summer. I think the whole crash took over a minute. I think he still swears he was just checking the polish job on the bottom skid plates.

Now keep in mind this was like 15 years ago, but still the same. We had just brought home the dirt bikes and we had a killer track set up around our ranch. Dragon went down in the creek and came up to jump the bike. well needless to say he took it a little to fast for his first jump on the thing and as soon as he was in the air he blanked out. Him and the bike feel to the ground.
To this day he will still tell you all he remembers is hitting the jump and leaving the ground and then waking up on the ground with his bike.
Now I wasn't much better. I was only like 6 years old at the time, but I went to stop my bike and was going to use the three rail fence to help hold the bike up. I didn't get turned enough and ended up hitting the fence instead.
All in all neither of us got hurt, but I am able to laugh at mine and and am not so sure about him.

Well, he hit that one right, and yes I can laugh at it. That one is legit, it was a crash. That one kind of stunk....Although our first weekend out with our brand spankin' new DS Crash desides that he is going to roll it. Worst part was I was laughing very hard at him, and he got mad and yelled at me to help him. So I got off my bike walked over and proceeded to help hi get it back on the four wheels. Well I guessed I ticked him off, cause he pushed his exhaust pipe right into my arm. He rolled and I got burnt.

Lets just say for hypothetical purposes we were riding where we shouldn't have been , in a area that they were getting ready to build a monster housing development. And lets say hypothetically that the developers got sick of us riding there and at the top of a hill they dug 2 ditches about 6 foot deep and 6 foot wide across the road about 8 foot apart. So you would come flying up this undeveloped dirt road at a speed that would be noted as " not legal" like you have done for the last few months but this time at the crest of this hill, there are the ditches, and given the elevation change , you have about 15 feet notice.
So at blurry eye speeds you have a split seconds notice to either hit the brakes and plow into the first deep ditch or yank the handlebars and try to clear it. I tried to clear it at about 75 mph. Had plenty of speed but no take off ramp and even thogh I pulled up with all my might, I did not make it, I squared right into the second ditch.
The theory that an object in motion tends to stay in motion applies here. I hit the oposing wall of that ditch , bounced right out and landed about 40 feet down the road, still on the ds , still upright. I grabbed the brake and slowed to a stop.... Nothing hurt , i felt fine but gosh I must have bent something upfront i think to myself because the bars feel very akward in my hands......
Well thats because my right wrist was up where my elbow was supposed to be, my fore-arm had broken in numerous places and shoved my hand up ontop of all the other bones, my arm was about 15 inches shorter than it used to be.
Now knowing we are hypothetically on posted property and not wanting to get in trouble , coupled with the fact this new development was 10 miles from home in the middle of no-where..... left me the option to wait for a helicopter out or ride it home. So as my buddies arrived and said OH MAN!!!!! I said here lets roll! So i jammed it into first with no clutch *ouch* and we rode 10 miles home , all road riding at a pretty good clip.
Remember the no pain part? Well that lasted about 8 miles , by mile 10 i was in a wee bit of pain and eneded up passing out on my next door neighbors front lawn.
many months later I was happily Ds'ing (is thata word???) again. I'll never forget the faces of my frinds as they rode up and saw my arm.

After myself and two of my buddies had suffered crashes we had an agreement that if one of us doesn't feel comfortable on a particular trail/hill then we simply dont go up or down it.
We were a bit concerned about our one friend who had crashed two different quads neither of which were his and he doesn't/didn't have one of his own until now. Well I kind of tried to tell him he was being a bit reckless and that maybe WE should take it easy (mind you, his wife and I had exchanged numerous emails with her concerned about this as well) he didn't quite "get it"......well last summer were up in Foresthill riding, my one friend and I (who own the quads) get to the bottom of this one trail where it splits off, we always wait for everyone in these situations...well our third friend who's on my DS should be right behind us. We waited, waited, waited....damn, figured we better hustle back up the trail to find him, about that time he arrives, turns off the quad, gets off and hits the ground in pain. According to him, he hit a big whoop pretty fast going downhill, got tossed off the DS, watched it hit a small tree, roll down the trail about three times landing upside down. He said he got it back on its wheels, sat for a few minutes to get his thoughts then found us. Had he not told me about the crash I wouldn't have known because there wasn't a mark on the DS, he was pretty scratched/banged up but the quad was fine except for some dirt. This is the same guy who crashed my other buddies Raptor on like the second time we took it out.
Lets just say that we REALLY had to talk to him and explain if he wanted to keep riding with us he had to chill out, his wife was all over my **** and I was leary about even letting him ride any of my quads anymore. I finally talked him into buying my Beartracker so at least I didn't worry about my own quads getting wrecked LOL.

Ok I can maybe top the front flip. This was a couple years before i got my DS. Me and a friend of mine borrowed another one of our friends' timberwolf. Well my friend decided to take my truck while i followed him on the timberwolf. We were headed down a gravel road and i was wide open 5th gear when he stopped all of a sudden and put the truck into reverse. Needless to say I panicked and stupidly slammed on the rear brake. The quad started fishtailing and then went sideways and the damn thing bit and launched me. I went flying 15 yards and i caught out of the corner of my eye the quad doing 3 barrel rolls and landing on all four wheels. Nothing but a little scratch on the control box on the handlebar. As for me I was picking gravel out of my arm for a week. Not too bad for my first crash on a quad.

You gotta love the gravel. These bikes sure are built stout now. We are really getting some grat stories on here. Keepem comin..I know there are a lot of them out there considering how much we all LOVE to ride and push it to the limit.

ATVADDICT I too wrecked my DS on the first trip out, it was the wifes bike at the time. We went to the dunes in Winnemucca, me and a friend were climbing this dune, we had went up it two or three times no problem. The fourth time I went up, I hit neutral and got it back in first then dug the rearend into the sand, I grabbed all brakes and the clutch and sat there for just a breif second when it started to tip backward, I leaned forward trying to save it and it just kept rolling. I jumped off and it made 1 complete end over end flip and landed on it's wheels, I got it back to the bottom and it started and we went back to the truck. The only damage was to the front nose piece, needless to say the wife wasn't too happy I just wrecked her new bike. Shortly after that it became mine, she got a predator, I also wrecked her hotrod Blaster there on her first time out at the dunes.
