As you have read the carb issue for a DS is all about personal choice but!!! I will get some who disagree with me but my Lectron 46hv and ported intake work very well at low speed trail riding and the combination is extremely good on the top end.I dont know what your horsepower would be with the addition of the Lectron and ported intake but i am sure you would be pleased with the performance.I may have a different opinion about my Lectrons low speed habits once i get my Baja back with my HR3 cams but bumping up my compression should off set any losses there.A properly installed stock bore high compression piston would be another option for reliable power.

 

jmann i had a lectron 46hv and rode trails in the woods and did not have to much trouble with it. i have since upgrade to a 48hv i have not been trail riding with the new carb yet. the 48hv is sooth as silk on throttle pull. the 46hv was good on pull, crazypainter rode mine with the 46hv and said pulled nice than his 45tm. just my 2 cents.

 

I have run all three (TM45, Lectron 46 and 48) I found both lectrons to have more topend power than the TM and I have power "Right Now". No bog whatsoever and the thumb pull is much lighter on the Lectron. The disadvantage to the Lectron is it costs more. Don't discount it due to bogging. When it gets dialed in, there is no bog.

It was a lot smoother than my TM. I've got one of the smoothest TM's I've felt.

My wife wont let me put one on her bike cuz they dont have 1/8 throttle. Thats were she spends all her time. And at 1/8 throttle the tm on her bike dont feel to bad. But after that the two carbs swap and the lectron is much easier and the tm not so much. Now if she would just go faster so I could put one on her machine, so that when I use it................

Ive done most of the mods listed at one time or another. Id like to know what type of riding your doing and conditions. You may have listed that before but when it starts with all the thisis better I usually skip alot of posts. Its all good just everyone has there opinions. Heres mine

Only CDI for me is the Woods and Ive tried the others

TM carb on alcohol is really good(easy to change over)
Lectron for gas

Webb cams are good 109s
HPRs are a little better

ported intake to match carb a must

No box

22" triple buffs

I have 14/1 pistons in 2 of quads love them
but not a must
