Here is the answer to your question BlackHawk. For some reason my puter won't link this morning.
http://www.e85fuel.com/database/search.php
I never thought of that. Would running E85 in our cars be similar to running alky in our bikes? basically alky is half the cost of race gas but you use over twice as much to do the same amount of riding.........so it is a net loss as far as cost of fuel is concerned.

I am not saying E85 will have this same disadvantage. I am asking
You cant run E85 in your car unless your car is equipped to run it. There are conversion companies out there that basically sell a device that makes the changes nessesary to run it. Many vehicles by Ford and GM and others run E85 or standard gasloline now - those are called Flex Fuel vehicles. Basically, you run E85 when you can, and regular gas when you cant find it. It is true that the motors are basically manufactured to run gas most effeciently, rather than E85. However, its a start in the right direction.

However, as far as quads go, with the right jetting and piston compression, I dont see why a person couldnt run E85 in a quad now.

You realize that water (bottled) is more expensive than gasoline?

Right now Brazil is 100% independent of any foreign energy through the production of Ethanol. Sugar is grown to produce the fuel, the stalks are burned to provide energy to run the processing facility, the farms themselves are 100% self sustained by their own crop and by product. Over 70% of the vehicles ran in Brazil are flex fuel.

Granted, there are probabaly an average of 4 Brazilians for every car (the opposite is true in the US) but we have enough natural resources to vastly reduce the need for foreign energy.

There are natural gas pipelines not even in USE because that huge surplus would drive the price way down (darn).

Don't even get me started on solar energy <sigh> possibly the least expensive and easiest energy option available to almost every home owner in the country.

As long as BIG ENERGY is bribing our politicians this won't change either.

You think your local electricity company is in any hurry to provide you with essentially free power? Depending on usage, a typical homeowner COULD realize free power within 4-6 years after installing a solar system.
